The Warren Haynes Band: Live From The Moody Theater, out April 24th (Stax/Concord Music Group), is a two-set multi-camera DVD concert film/audio CD package shot in Austin, TX during the band’s “pure dynamite” (Boston Globe) debut world tour.

The blazing 2.5-hour show features several cuts from Haynes’ GRAMMY-nominated solo release ‘Man In Motion’ as well as Hendrix’s “Spanish Castle Magic,” Steely Dan’s “Pretzel Logic,” Sam Cooke’s classic “A Change Is Gonna Come” & Warren’s live staple “Soul Shine” and more. Guests include the Groove Line horns and 2012 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee Ian McLagan of The Faces.

The Warren Haynes Band features a hand-picked band including R&B kingpins Ron Johnson on bass, Terence Higgins on drums, Nigel Hall on keyboards, Ron Holloway on saxophone and Alecia Chakour on vocals.

While supplies last, all orders come with an exclusive live bonus CD of acoustic Warren Haynes performances from the 2011 tour. Gov't Mule - Classic Mule

Let's step back into Mule history: DOSE, the finest Gov't Mule studio CD up until that point, had been released three days prior. This was it's coming out party. Atlanta was considered home to the Mule, not physically but spiritually and 1,900 fine souls were there to be saved on this historical night. So the stage is set.

Warren steps up to the microphone and thanks everybody and tells the crowd that Mule would be playing DOSE in its entirety and then taking a break and the second set would feature a lot of guests and that if anyone left, it would be their own fault for missing out.

Matt Abts is so amazing. His work on Thorazine Shuffle is brilliant. He and Woody do a dance on this song that is so hot. Warren's sweet licks on Towering Fool are indescribable. This was my first time seeing Woody play the new axe with the bass/mandolin combo. It's great to see him play that monster. The She Said She Said > Tomorrow Never Knows jam was a religious experience; a major musical expedition.

The second set was another mind blower. But what happened next was the most awesome God spirit jamming I have ever heard.

What an ASS kicking all-star jam. Put Chuck Leavell, David Schools, Jo-Jo Hermann, Derek Trucks and Jimmy Herring on stage with the Mule boys and one would expect fireworks to go off. And do they ever!

Gov't Mule and long time Mule archivist Jim Baadshaug presents the first of what we hope will be many Classic Mule Tracks.

Once in a lifetime! Pre-Mule set, those in attendance at Red Rocks tonight were treated to an unbelievable set of acoustic music from Gregg Allman and Warren Haynes. “Rare” does not aptly describe this night, nor does brilliant, moving, soulful; or any other adjective one can conjure. Midnight Rider was the first dish served and was followed by Come & Go Blues. Old Before My Time and Come On In To My Kitchen both raised the hair on the back of my neck as well as many others' too. Beautiful in its simplicity and stirring in its power, this set is truly one of the highlights of both Messrs. Haynes' and Allman's career.

DEEP FRIED is Matt Abts, Johnny Neel, George Porter Jr and Brian Stoltz.

The Deep Fried sessions took place in 2004 in Johnny Neel's studio. We immediately took to the road to stretch it out and the results are here on this album. Recorded live at the Orange Peel in Asheville, NC, this is an accurate account of the moment. It was remixed for your living room and edited for time, but there are no overdubs.

Happy Mule-O-Ween from The Orpheum! From the first note of Brighter Days, this show was on par to be a great one. Bad Little Doggie and Brand New Angel were ferocious and Gameface was perfect all by itself. Trane teased through Third Stone From The Sun and Eternity's Breath before arriving at a momentous St. Stephen Jam. Monkey Hill set up for Child Of The Earth and the set closing Kinder Bird Jam-> Kind Of Bird soared. This year the set break seemed to be a bit windy- inside. As the second set drew nearer, the wind started to swirl around the theater that had been set up with a quadrophonic PA. Then Jorgen stepped on the gas, the lasers lit up the room and we all drove headfirst into Pink Floyd's One Of These Days. Fearless followed and as the band faded out, the soccer chants (as per the album) began and led right into Pigs On The Wing Part 2. The set went on with Shine On You Crazy Diamond featuring the requisite female vocalists, two of the three who in fact sang these same songs on tour with Pink Floyd. Matt sang Have A Cigar and the addition of Ron Holloway on saxophone clinched this night as one of the more spectactular nights of music to behold. -One final note: There are a few spots where some of the sound effects seem to almost disappear. This is a result of the live show being mixed quadrophonically, but recorded in stereo. If you listen closely you can hear the effects going around the rear quad speakers in the audience microphones.
